Rocco’s original contract ran from May 8, 2017, through June 30, 2021, but the school board proactively rescinded that labor agreement and replaced it with a better one to retain him and hopefully dissuade him from seeking full-time employment elsewhere. Serving as Hamilton’s superintendent since May 2017, Rocco’s major accomplishments include implementing districtwide school improvements after persuading the public to support a $55.4 million referendum and rallying stakeholders to develop a five-year strategic plan for improving Hamilton’s public schools system.Īs superintendent of a highly diverse school district, “We the Hamilton Township School District,” Rocco continued, “believe Black Lives Matter, and we are putting actions into that belief.” Rocco’s five-year contract expires on June 30, 2025, but it will automatically renew for another five years to 2030 unless the board decides otherwise. The school board last month approved a compensation and benefits package for Rocco, rewarding him with better pay and more vacation time during an ongoing COVID-19 public health emergency. Retroactive to July 1, Rocco’s current annual salary is $224,500, and he will receive 3% annual salary hikes over the next five years, soaring to $253,044 effective for the 2024-25 schoolyear, according to his newly approved employment contract. The Hamilton Township Board of Education has given Superintendent Scott Rocco a new contract that will keep him here for at least the next five to 10 years. HAMILTON – Talk about a vote of confidence.
